Dressage champion Jan Ebeling Joins Team Ice Horse Family

Sonoma, CA (October 22, 2014) – Dressage icon Jan Ebeling has joined forces with Ice Horse, becoming the newest member of the Ice Horse family. Jan joins the list of 20+ other Olympians and professional equestrians in the Team Ice Horsestable that are currently using the patented cold therapy products to give their horses the winning edge.

A member of the 2012 Olympic Team, Ebeling spent most of his childhood in Oldenburg, Germany, not far from where his Olympic partner Rafalca was born. He took riding lessons as a child, and worked feeding and grooming horses, and maneuvering the horse manure cart so he could pay for the lessons. Working his way up as an apprentice for the late German master Herbert Rehbein, Ebeling now oversees 30 to 40 horses at the Acres, a ranch in Moorpark, Calif.

A US Citizen since 1998, Jan represented the US on the 2003 gold medal Pan American team in Santo Domingo, aboard Feleciano, and aboard Rafalca competed in the World Cup in 2007, 2009, 2011, and 2012. In 2011, Jan and Rafalca were the highest ranked USA combination at the World Cup in Leipzig, Germany and members of the USA team in Aachen culminating their partnership with a spot on the 2012 Olympic team.

“Not only is Jan Ebeling one of the horse world’s best athletes, but he exemplifies a superb level of horsemanship both in and out of the ring,” said Julie Garella, and CEO  of Ice Horse. “Jan demonstrates an exceptional level of training and care for the horse, and we are thrilled to be part of his horse care program. Busy professionals like Jan can really benefit from the convenience and time savings that Ice Horse products provide.”

In addition to Jan's heavy competition and training schedule, Jan is a USDF Young Rider Clinician, is also a member of the High Performance Dressage Eligible Athlete Committee, and conducts clinics nationally and internationally, as well as having a full training and sales business in Moorpark, CA. As his family is an important part of his life, he enjoys spending time hiking, biking, snorkeling, and traveling with his wife, Amy and son, Ben.
